More Filters for Quick Search, Adv Search, Etc.

I've been scouring the Forums for how to add other filters to search module and components. Think this would be a greatly appreciated addition in a future release.

Hi-- the difficulty with allowing users to add arbitrary search criteria is that in order to be efficient there should be indexes on the db columns to be searched-- searching with multiple criteria can quickly cause routine searches to bog down the DB server if the query isn't optimized well.

Yes, I agree. I was talking specifically about just a few more criteria, i.e., Square Feet, Lot Size, maybe a few more that would help users find the property they're looking for. Not a willy-nilly "add whatever filter you want." Just a few more filter criteria than what we have now. In my client's case, all their properties are in the same state, same country so these are useless filters (and so we didn't use them) but what they COULD use is lot size because they sell a lot of acreage/land/farms, etc. I've seen requests for street address, garage spaces, and others in the forums as well.

Hey, I think you guys do a great job dealing with all the custom-code help. Your product is really a stand-out. This is just a suggestion in the suggestion box.
