Phil_Yonge created the topic: Advanced Search Filter Alteration Support Request
Hello Support Staff,

In portrait or landscape mode on a smartphone, such as the iPhone 4 which has a small LCD, I would like to have an advanced search filter display alteration not provided by IP v3.2 please due to the current two options having their own drawbacks.

I am presuming that this would not be a simple alteration; but you never know! Hence I am posting here. If it isn't a simple alteration then can I have this added as a future release request please?

The price slider is cumbersome to use on a smaller smartphone as you have to have your finger in a precise location on the LCD to move the slider which usually takes a few attempts. Also, one's finger obscures the monetary value under the slider for about a 1/3rd of the sliders width which isn't helpful. If I switch to dropdown box mode my client doesn't link the fact that we can't set price increments and even if we could the price range is so large that we would have too many increments on a small screen making it cumbersome.

My proposed solution and request is to have input box fields for the price, bedrooms, bathrooms and property area as my example image below shows (price filter only) This would really make advanced search on a smartphone a lot more user-friendly in my view.

Many thanks in advance,

Phil
