Hi, our client wants to have necessarily that the property ID (mls id) is applied to the contact form if a user clicks the button under the agent in the sidebar at the property view. And I have to say that he is right.

If they get the contact form, they don't know for which property the inquiry is. So they have to search through all the properties and guess which property the customer meant. This is not very customer friendly to let the customer remember the number. Normally he didn't notice the number and has to go back to the page to remember the number for the contact form.

What can we do to provide our client a proper solution for his problem? Is it simply possible to apply the mls id to the form with a few lines of code or do we need a more complicated solution with a plugin for that?

Hi - so you're referring to the actual agent or company contact view? The property information will be included in the email when a user fills out the 'request showing' form while viewing a property, but it's not included in the emails submitted from the agent/company contact forms simply because the contact inquiries aren't always related to a property.

I like the idea - but he only way I see it working is having a field in the contact form that the user can optionally select a property that the inquiry is regarding. We can't just assume the user is contacting the agent regarding a specific property just because they come to the contact form from a property page. Hope this makes sense! Let us know. Thanks.

I could convince our client to not use the button and use the "request of showing" form instead. I reworked the form a little bit because it's not 100% the meaning of what we want. If we translated word by word, it means - request for a date for openhouse - but we just need a request form to order an exposé where additional fields for an address has to be built in.

Hmm - it sounds like for your needs it would be the easiest solution to reword the form to be a more generic information request OR open house request like the default behavior, but I'm not sure what your clients' requirements are.

What if we added an auto-populate field or chosen select box in the agent/company contact form where the user could begin typing an address and the field would narrow down results for similar properties. This seems it would be the most logical solution since it's not possible to create a basic drop down to select a property in cases where users have thousands of properties.

If you have ideas please let us know and we'll add this to the 'todo' list for the next release. Thanks.

We use the request for showing form. I renamed it as Call for Exposé and changed the description text for our needs. All needed information is sent with this form beside the address. Maybe I extend the form for an address field as I did with the contact form. Maybe you could add an address field for the forms in one of the next versions because I belive that also many other users would miss this for now.

Thanks - we've added this to the list of enhancements for future releases. I'll move this to the feature requests forum. Thanks.
