Shouldn't that be part of iProperty? Can you imagine a broker managing his agents property information and pictures? Anyway, when you plan on publishing this modual?

Can you please rephrase your question? We have many broker clients who have admin staff that manage listings for their agents. Is that what you're asking?

Yes, it is possible that there will be somebody at the office to do it manually. However my opinion is that it make much more sense that an agent will take care of administrating his/her own listing reducing the pressure off the office stuff.

If an agent is an employee of the company, simply make him a manager and he can log into the admin to handle his own properties. Front end access to manage listings is only critical if you need to separate the users and ensure security.

Many real estate companies use administrative staff to maintain their database and marketing materials - this is probably more common than individual agents doing so (I have been doing marketing for the real estate industry for 10 years in two ends of the country and found this to be true).

I can see where some real estate companies have competing interests (between agents) and thus the web administrator would want to limit the editing of properties to be user-specific. The iProperty staff recognizes the need for front-end editing and are definitely working on it, but currently the back-end works well for most users.

For now, as a web admin, you can use another component to limit user access on the back-end to only the iProperty component thus protecting the content and structure of the rest of the site. Also, the Real Estate company must put rules in place to protect everyone's interest and the integrity of the data. This is why I prefer to have one admin handling it anyway - Realtors need to spend more time selling and less time handling data and doing office work.

Thank you for your input jrubin. The problem of letting agents getting into the back-end is that they have access to the content and structure of the rest of the site.

I know many small to medium real state offices in our big city where the agents are totally independent (in return to much lower broker fees) and taking care of their marketing tasks (which publishing own listing is part of their selling job).

I'm saying that since I proposed your component to a broker that purchase it and now is not happy with the news that he will need to enter the listing on his own.
