Hi vannquish-- sorry, the instructions he posted were pretty clear. We can't spend too much time posting custom instructions especially when the software is free.

If you have a friend who's good with PHP, ask for a hand-- it should be pretty clear.

Thanks

OK, Im getting there!

Fields not needed have been removed.

I've setup a test user and created 3 projects. I then created another test user and logged into the site but I can see the projects posted by user1.

I take it this can be managed by linking the users to different groups?

well, depending on what you're trying to accomplish, yes. You can use the groups or you could simply make the whole projectlog menu item "registered" or "special" if you like to keep non- registered or non-admin users from viewing.

I'm not too fussed about admin users.

The project log menu item is already set to registered only but I only want registered users to see there own project logs.

Currently they see all projects in the database for all users?

Adding users to specific groups, then applying the group to specific projects should be what you're looking for - this will restrict access to users if they don't belong to the group that has access to the project.

OK. I've created a group for each individual user.

But I want users to be able to create the projects themselves. currently when a user accesses project log they see the group access drop list with all the other user groups in there?

How can I get it to work so User 1 is part of group1 and they only have access to group1?
