Hi - it's possible to run multiple instances of WF on one site, but this requires renaming files, folders and also possibly modifying the db table names so there's no conflicts. It's not an easy job but it is possible.
WF does not have subcategories, but will it not work to create your departments and copy employees from the admin list view - then create menu items to the 'internal' or 'external' departments? Let us know questions. Thanks.
Hi - yes, you'll need to manually change file names and do a global find and replace of any instances of 'com_workforce' and name it something different in the code. It's not hard, but kind of tedious and takes some time. You might just do a google search for 'multiple instances of Joomla component' and you should find some useful info explaining the process.
I've got a question regarding this topic...if I change all the references to com_workforce and change it to say com_workforce2 will the database tables be created properly or do I need to do something specific for the database?
P.S. I would be sweet if Workforce had a "locations" selector
