Hi - thanks for your interest in Work Force. To answer your questions:

Work Force was designed to show a single department at a time, but has the ability to display all employees at once as well, but there is no filtering by department on the front-end. Departments are created individually by menu item, for example - Maybe you have a main menu item of all employees, then subnavigation of individual departments. Each departments orders by the order given in the admin panel and each employee will have a bio and captcha secured contact form and encoded email address to prevent spammers.

The filtering could be modified or additional search fields added to the sort drop down very easily if you are comfortable with PHP/Joomla! All text on the front-end and admin panels are controlled with language files so any text could easily be swapped out for different words/phrases.

I have attached a screenshot of an employee editing view in the admin panel - any of these fields could be replaced with different wording via the language files. As far as the combining of Report Card and Work Force -- how do you suggest this would be used? We're open to any requests if it makes sense to a large user base. Please give an example. Thanks!

Hello, I'm interested in implementing your Work Force component into my site and I noticed in the demo that only two options were available for the sort by option (Last Name, First Name). Therefore, my first question is...
Does Work Force allow the user to sort by departments published to the frontend?

My next question is... Can the administrator add additional inputs to populate more information. For example, the inputs would be First Name, Last Name, Work Experience, Date Joined and etc... Is this possible or can this be added as a feature if not available?

You can visit the following link and you'll see a similar component to Work Force, but has additional fields available.
http://demo.qproje.com/j15x/index.php?option=com_qpersonel&task=qpListele&katid=2&Itemid=&Itemid=54

And if you want a feature request which would spicen up this component, than I believe you should have an option to implement the Report Card component with Work Force. Then maybe even add a rating system. This would be totally awesome! It would definitely make this component even better than before. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the reponse. I understand how the departments work, but as far as the sort by, it is very important since I would like to provide the sorting by categories instead of just First and Last Name.

Now, as for my suggestion on implementing Report Card with Work Force, well there are alot of different ways to use this integration. My personal use would be to have users submit their testimonials and ratings (If rating would be added as an exta feature in Report Card)...

A user logs in as a registered member, visits the employees profile and fills out a testimonial form and submits it along with their rating (0-5 stars) and the testimonial is displayed below the employees biography or details for reference on experience and so on. Also, an overall rating is displayed as well for each employee in the frontend next to their listing.

This can be used for developers and teachers to show their previous work experience from members who have recently hired them. It can also be used for counseling, where the user submits a testimonial depending on the service and expert selected. In other words, the integration between these two components can help a number of businesses and companies who provide services or specific products dependant on the employee. Almost every company would be interested in something like this.

Hope this helps clear up my previous suggestion. Thanks.

I have one question as well ...

I would like to use Work Force to create a Artist Roster for musicians.
Some musicians are collected in artist management agencies (here DEPARTEMENTS)

Within this departements (of course different addresses and so on) I would like to list the managers and artists in different categories (Employees and Artists) The artists section again in different instrument categories ...

Search possibilities ...
If I search now for an artist... do I get the artist information and also the management who is in charge of the artist?

Would be very interesting .. I found also others who are interested in an Artist roster like mine ...

Hope to hear from you soon ...
Best
Michael

one more thing ...

would it be possible to list an Artist in different Departements at the same time ?

sometime artists have different managers for different countries ..
Also sometime employes (not inmy case) are working in different departements ...

would make sense to have this possibility ...

Thanks for a quick reply ...

Hi - I like the idea, but it would take some major re-structuring of the component to make it work. Of course, you're always welcome to do modifications and if you think Work Force would be a good foundation it would be great to see how it goes! Thanks for your interest and let me know questions.
