Changing Defaults

Hi There!

I'm just an administrator for my company's intranet.  We recently added workforce.  I'd like to make some changes to the defaults and there aren't options to make them on the admin backend.  Could you tell me how to make them (keeping in mind I don't typically deal with the code portion of Joomla)?

1. We don't want to include staff photos.  When I tested, if you don't enter a photo, a box shows up and lets all users see no photo was entered.  If a photo isn't uploaded, is there a way to get rid of that box?

2. Rather than clicking "Read More" underneath each employee name, I'd like to see all the employee info on one page.  We're just using the bio section for a brief job description 1-2 lines, so I'd rather have that listing out all at once.

Please let me know how I can achieve either of these goals.  Other than those changes, I think this program is a perfect fit!

Hi - sorry for the late reply somehow this post slipped through the cracks -- to answer your questions: These modifications will take some tweaking to the code as there is no way to do it natively through the component. To get rid of the column that displays the image is not a difficult tweak - you will need to edit two files:

Just remove the column that displays the '$this->employee->icon' and add a 'colspan="2"' to the other column. It will take some knowledge of HTML but should be a quick fix. As far as showing the full bio/contact form on the department landing page, this would be too complicated to explain especially if you're not familiar with php. If you just want to show the full bio and the 'Read More' could link to the employee details, you could simply change the Work Force 'Overview Characters' setting higher to display the entire bio.

Hope this makes sense and let us know any questions. Thanks.
